ARMY VETERAN, father and husband, life insurance agent, survivor of a historical car wreck, lover of antique cars, and strong Christian, John Emory continues to live an invigorating and busy life at the ripe age of 84.


The Mississippi Chorus presents professional musicians from central Mississippi with its sixth annual Summer Showcase. This fund-raising event begins at 6:30 p.m., August 1 in the ballroom of the Union Station train depot in downtown Jackson.

Lottie Louise Lee Smith died peacefully July 6, at her home in Jackson. Funeral services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at Oakridge Hall at St. James on Wednesday July 8 from 4 to 6 p.m.
