More than a million dollars is available to the city of Jackson if only they could collect it.
Jackson’s municipal court system is carrying a backlog of unserved warrants numbering in the thousands which city officials say are valued at more than a million dollars.
The city currently has approximately 20,000 misdemeanor warrants outstanding.
And it’s a number that’s likely to hold steady, with no place to put violators and hundreds of new warrants being issued each week.
