YEARS OF WORKING at the Mississippi State Capitol has appeared to pay off for District 29 Sen. David Blount.
In his first term, Blount had 13 bills signed into law, more than any other freshman senator in the 2008-11 class.
Blount, who was re-elected in November and is now chairman of the Public Property Committee, continues to find success in the Republican-controlled chamber.
In 2012, the Democrat added four more bills to the tally of measures he’s had signed off on by the governor.
