Denny cites murder statute, business tax as top priorities for 2014 legislature
District 64 Rep. Bill Denny was one for two last year on the two major bills he discussed with the Sun.
Denny, during the 2013 legislative session, introduced a bill to create an attempted murder statute and another one to lower the business personal property tax.
The tax bill failed, but the measure to create an attempted murder statute passed overwhelmingly in the House of Representatives and Senate.
“After it came out of committee, we didn’t have a single vote against it,” he said, referring to the 52-0 vote in the Senate.
