Jackson Police Chief Resigned, Effective Immediately
Jackson Police Chief Lindsey Horton retired from the Jackson Police Department this morning, handing in his letter of resignation to Mayor Tony Yarber. Horton is a 30-year veteran with the force and has been chief for a little more than a year. Asst. Chief Lee Vance will serve as interim chief, according to a press release from the city. The release did not say why Horton was stepping down, only that the retirement was effective immediately, Monday, July 21.
