Kimwood neighborhood may be reworked for need of additional parking spaces
A decision to allow Highland Village to demolish two homes in the Kimwood neighborhood and build a parking lot in their place has been appealed to the Jackson City Council.
In March, the Jackson Planning Board narrowly approved a request from the shopping center to tear down two homes, build the parking lot and turn Kimwood into a cul-de-sac at its Old Canton Road entrance.
The board approved the measure on a 4-3-1 vote.
The council will now determine the fate of the request at its zoning meeting on April 21.
