FEDERAL MONEY for multi-use trails in Ridgeland has all but dried up for now, but in the meantime the city is doing what it can.
The board of aldermen voted last week to advertise for bids for a pavilion at the trailhead on Rice Road just west of Harbor Drive. The pavilion will include restrooms and picnic tables.
City Engineer David Williams said the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks is providing $100,000 and the city will kick in about $25,000 for the project, which he said could be done within the next several months.
