Only bid above amount city budgeted for St. Andrews Drive; minor work planned
Plans to give St. Andrews Drive a major overhaul in time for the Sanderson Farms Championship have fallen through.
But Jackson city officials still hope to make some improvements to the beleaguered street before golfers tee off in November.
“We received one bid, from Dickerson and Bowen for $1.5 million, and it was way above what was budgeted,” said Charles Williams, interim director of Public Works. “We’re probably going to re-advertise it next February.
