State Senate resolution commemorates members’ lifesaving rescue
State Sen.Will Longwitz and Mississippi Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves presented Boy Scout Troop 302 a plaque commemorating the Senate resolution honoring them for their life-saving rescue of an injured man in the Sipsey Wilderness area in north Alabama.
The plaque presented by Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves details the rescue of a 51-year-old man from deep inside the Sipsey Wilderness area of north Alabama recently. Wayne Patterson, 51, of Hartselle, Ala., was hiking in the wilderness area when he slipped while helping his wife cross a log.
