Support children

Melissa Skelton (center), a partner at Olde Tyme Commissary and Inside Out in the Renaissance in Ridgeland, recently presented board members of Friends of Children’s Hospital a check for $450. Shown with Skelton are Scott Overby (left), board president; and Sidney Allen (right), incoming board chairman. Friends of Children’s Hospital is a nonprofit organization that benefits Batson Children’s Hospital located at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The funds from its recent donation were made possible by sales of the book “A Boy Called Combustion: Growing Up in 1940s Mississippi,” by Dr. Bill Keeton of Atlanta. The book relives Keeton’s childhood years as part of the Fondren family.
