Ballet Mississippi continues its 50th anniversary celebration with performances of “The Nutcracker.” Returning to the Jackson stage as a special guest is International Ballet Competition medalist Joseph Gatti and his partner Adiarys Almeida. Performances are December 7 at 7:30 p.m. and December 8 at 2 p.m. at Thalia Mara Hall. On Sunday, December 8 at noon the Ballet Mississippi Guild hosts the Sugar Plum Fairy's Tea Party at the Mississippi Museum of Art prior to the Sunday matinee performance of “The Nutcracker.” This event includes a seated lunch catered by The Palette Cafe, live music, party favors, and photographs with Nutcracker characters. Tickets for the tea party are $30 per person, and must be purchased in advance at www.balletms.com.
