Jackson residents paying twice to keep all libraries open

ACT excellence

The 41 Jackson Academy students who have scored 29 or above on the ACT are eligible for Mississippi’s Eminent Scholars Grant, a $2,500 per year grant awarded to in-state residents pursuing a degree at a post-secondary institution in Mississippi.

Glenn Cain scholars

The Glenn Cain Scholarship at Jackson Academy was established in honor of the former headmaster and is awarded based on academic performance, school citizenship and service to the institution. Selected to receive the scholarship for the upcoming school year are (from left) Emma Ward, Anna Katherine Ray, and Erin Hederman.

Each year at graduation First Presbyterian Day School recognizes a male and female in the sixth-grade class who exemplify outstanding character and integrity. The recipients of the Andrew J. “Zeke” Walley Memorial Award for 2017 were Anders Morgan and William Walker.
