N’sider debutantes honored at party

Several Northsiders were among debutantes, pages and escorts presented by the governing board of the Delta Debutante Club.

The event was held at Belmont Plantation in Wayside.

Following a reception, the young pages and their escorts traveled by bus to nearby Linden Plantation on Lake Washington for a luau. On the day of the reception, the debutantes, their mothers, their grandmothers, and members of the governing board attended a luncheon at The Crown in Indianola. The party was hosted by the parents of Millie Rives Alexander, Miss Catherine Elizabeth Day, and Miss Shelton Sykes Quantz.

On the morning after the reception and dance, a brunch was held at the Downtown Grille in Greenville, honoring Sarah Elizabeth Lane, Georgia Blake Stovall, Virginia French Virden, and Megan Grantham Weiss. The brunch was hosted by the parents of the honored debutantes

Page Rosemary West McClintock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Leverett McClintock of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McGee III of Greenville, and Mrs. George Thomas McClintock of Jackson and the late Mr. McClintock;

Debutante Millie Rives Alexander, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heard Alexander Jr. of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of the Mrs. Gerald Alton LeCroy of Franklin, Tenn. the late Mr. LeCroy and the late Mrs. Blackwell LeCroy, and Mrs. Robert Heard Alexander of Keswick, Va. and the late Mr. Alexander. Miss Alexander is a student at the University of Mississippi, where she is a member of Kappa Delta sorority;

Debutante Madelyn Abide Harris, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Love Harris of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Albert Kalil Abide of Madison and the late Dr. Abide, and Mrs. Glen Harris of Tupelo and the late Mr. Harris. Miss Harris is a student at the University of Mississippi, where she is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Debutante Martha Love Langford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson Langford of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Elmo Bradley of Greenville and the late Mr. Bradley, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Gaines Langford of Jackson. Miss Langford attends Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt.;

Debutante Virginia French Virden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brittain Virden of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Edward French of Ridgeland and the late Mr. French, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Lowber Virden of Greenville. Miss Virden is a student at Southern Methodist University;

Debutante Megan Grantham Weiss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edward Pizzetta III of Madison and the late John Gerald Weiss of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Donald Pylate of Lake Village, Ark., and the late Sally McNulty Weiss and the late Seymour Weiss II of Greenville. Miss Weiss attends Eckerd College in St. Petersburg.
