Biloxi latest city to take down state flag

 Even while the Mississippi Legislature continues to ignore the need to change the state flag, the controversial banner is gradually disappearing from a host of public buildings.

Biloxi joined a number of local governments and all of the state’s public universities by taking down the flag, with its Confederate battle emblem.

This movement is only going to spread further, as more and more communities disassociate themselves from an image that offends a large segment of the state and hurts our national reputation.
