Meet the Staff:

WYATT EMMERICH, publisher

As publisher, Wyatt oversees the entire operation of the newspaper staff. He is responsible for meeting the payroll and making sure the Sun is profitable while giving readers and advertisers a good value for their money. Wyatt is a fifth-generation Mississippian and the third generation of his family to be a newspaper publisher. He has been publisher of the Northside Sun for 19 years.


 

JIMMYE SWEAT, editor

Jimmye serves as editor of the Northside Sun Newspaper and the Northside Sun Magazine. In this position she is responsible for the editorial content of both publications. A journalism major from the University of Mississippi, she has been associated with the Northside Sun since the late ‘70s. She and her husband, Andy, make their home in Jackson.


 

JENNIFER STRIBLING, account executive
Jennifer joined The Northside Sun advertising sales staff in August of 2015. She is a native New Orleanian but made Jackson home after studying at Millsaps College.  She started her career as a journalist in television news, working in both the Jackson and New Orleans markets and transitioned into public relations with the GodwinGroup. Jennifer lives in Madison with her husband, Wilson and their three children.


 

LAUREN BREAZEALE, account executive

Lauren Breazeale joined the Northside Sun's advertising staff as an account executive in January 2008. She moved to Oxford in 2009 and sold advertising for Invitation Oxford magazine for two years. In December 2011, she rejoined the Northside Sun's advertising staff. She is a Lexington native and a Mississippi State graduate with a degree in marketing. She lives with her husband, Maury and son, Brickell in Northeast Jackson.


 

AMY FORSYTH, account executive

Amy Forsyth joined the Northside Sun’s advertising staff in 2011. She is a native of Texarkana, Texas but has called Mississippi home for the past 16 years. She lives in Madison with her husband, Matt and their beloved Golden Retrievers. Amy is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, with a degree in advertising.


 

CARLY O'BRYANT, account executive

Carly joined the Northside Sun in June, 2011 as an account executive in advertising sales.  She is a native of Ocean Springs, MS and a graduate of the Univeristy of Alabama.  She and her husband make their home in Madison with their 2 children.


 

MISTI SIMS, account executive

Misti has been associated with the Northside Sun for 12 years. Growing up in Jackson, she graduated from Jackson Academy and earned her college degree from the University of Mississippi. She now lives in Madison with her husband, Clint, and two children, Lowe and Stella.


 

JENNY WOODRUFF, account executive

Jenny Bourn Woodruff is a Jackson Academy graduate. After earning her journalism degree from Baylor University, she became a staff writer for the Northside Sun. In 2004 she left to work in the Public Affairs Division of the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In 2008 she became the public relations director of the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership. She also served as Special Events and Projects Manager at Special Olympics of Mississippi before becoming the Director of Philanthropy at DREAM, Inc in September 2015. She returned to the Northside Sun's staff as an account executive in June 2016. She also continues to work for the magazine as a freelance wirter and photographer.


 

ANTHONY WARREN, staff writer

Anthony Warren has been a staff writer with the Northside Sun since 2007. The Jackson native is a member of the Metro Jackson Lions Club, where he currently serves on the board of directors. He received his master's degree from Belhaven University. Anthony is a 2005 graduate of Mississippi College, a 2013 graduate of Leadership Greater Jackson, and a member of the Crystal Springs Church of Christ.


 

MEGAN PHILLIPS, staff writer

Megan joined the Sun Staff in June 2015 after graduating from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee with a Bachelor’s in English and a concentration in literature. She considers herself a native of Mississippi, having grown up in and around the Jackson area since she was five. She attended St. Andrews Episcopal School beginning her kindergarten year until graduated in 2011. She now lives in Madison with her family.


 

BETH BUCKLEY, production/photographer

As a member of the production department, Beth is involved in all technical aspects of preparing the paper and magazine for publication. She also serves as the staff photographer. She has been associated with the Sun since 1993.


 

 

JO ANN WARD, proofreader

Jo Ann, a graduate of the University of Mississippi, serves as a proofer for the newspaper and magazine. She and her husband, Robert live in Madison. They have two sons.


 

WANDA McCAIN, art director

Wanda serves the Northside Sun as Art Director. A graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Graphic Design, she joined the staff in August, 2004. She and her husband, Joe make their home in Brandon. They have three children and two grandchildren.


 

MEGAN MINK, graphic designer

Megan joined the Northside Sun in 2015 after graduating with a BFA in graphic design from Belhaven University. An Oxford native, she moved to Jackson to be with her family, making her a third generation Jacksonian. She resides in Jackson, with her two boys, Dommy and Sam.


 

KERRI HAWKINS, distribution

Kerri is the Distribution Manager for all Northside Sun products. She grew up in the Jackson area and is a 1993 graduate of Belhaven College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, as well as a minor in Business Administration. She now lives in Ridgeland with her husband and two children.


 

DANI POE, circulation manager

Dani Poe joined the Northside Sun in November, 2005 as circulation manager for the weekly newspaper and monthly magazine. She is also responsible for the billing and collections for display advertising, payroll, accounts payable and financial statements. She and her husband, Shannon, have two children, Cody and Peyton, and live in Brandon.
