Developers get nine more months to decide on center

Developers have roughly three months to decide if it will lease some 130 acres of airport property to build a $165 million mixed-use project in Flowood.

The property is owned by the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA).

Lindsay on joining Jackson’s council

Virgi Lindsay was recently elected Ward Seven councilwoman for the city of Jackson. Before joining the council, Lindsay was a newspaper reporter and longtime executive director of the Greater Belhaven Foundation (GBF). She recently spoke to Senior Sun Staff Writer Anthony Warren about her position and the issues facing the city.

Mayor suggests city oversees one-percent projects

Jackson’s new mayor could have a solution to the city’s one-percent program management woes: Let public works oversee the projects, and reimburse the city for labor costs related to that work using one-percent dollars.

Waggoner to oversee Lake Harbour Road project

Waggoner Engineering has been contracted by the city of Ridgeland for the Lake Harbour Drive rehabilitation project, Waggoner was selected for construction, engineering and inspection services.

The project includes milling and overlaying plus the upgrade of four traffic signals on Spillway Road from Breaker’s Lane to Northpark Drive.
