Girls cross country

First 50

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School students are challenged every year to read 50 books the summer before starting first grade. Each year, on the first week of school, the students who successfully completed the challenge are awarded a certificate and a book of their own.

Back to school

Covenant Presbyterian preschool recently held their annual Back to School Night. The evening included food, games, face painting, petting zoo, and snow cones.  Enjoying the evening are Gavin and Lacy Nowell with Liam and Ceci.

On to college

Rebecca Seale

Rebecca Seale, a student at Saint Joseph High School, displayed her Girl Scout Gold Award Project at the 2017 Mississippi State Fair. The purpose of this award project is to educate the community about the assistive devices that are available to help students be independent in school and in life.

Travels

St. Richard Catholic School had an unprecedented crowd during their Sister of Mercy/Grandparents Day celebration. St. Richard grandparents were able to attend a special mass at Saint Richard Catholic Church in their honor before visiting their grandchild’s classroom and attending a special breakfast reception hosted and catered by the St.

Turnover

After 28 years as the announcer for Friday night football games, Jackson Academy president emeritus James Peter Jernberg Jr. (right) handed the microphone over to JA alumnus Chris Blackburn, class of 1986.

Cheerleaders

The 2017-2018 Rosa Scott cheerleaders attended UCA camp this summer at Beach Club Resort in Fort Morgan, Ala., where they won overall Game Day, second in Game Day Cheer, third in Extreme Routine along with Spirit Sticks and seven All-Americans selected.
