Miss Ellis and Lofton to marry on April 22 in Memphis ceremony
Dr. Nancy Conley Ellis of Collierville, Tenn., announces the engagement of her daughter, Jennie Katherine Ellis, to Corey Kenneth Lofton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Robert Lofton of Flowood.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Lyndon Myers Conley of Houston. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barnett of Flowood, Salena Lofton Edwards of Ridgeland, and the late James Harol Lofton.
Miss Ellis was graduated from New Albany High School in 2009. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in general engineering from the University of Mississippi and was graduated summa cum laude in 2013. At Ole Miss, Miss Ellis was a Taylor Medalist, class marshal for the School of Engineering, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and an Ole Miss Rebelette. She is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and will graduate with her doctor of medicine degree in May. She plans to continue her education with a residency in psychiatry.
Lofton is a 2010 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He received his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Mississippi in 2014. At Ole Miss, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He works alongside his family at Barnett’s Body Shop in Ridgeland.
The couple will exchange vows April 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis.
