Love and Popicg exchange wedding vows at First Presbyterian

Martha Yancy Love and Eli Parsons Popicg exchanged vows July 1 at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. David Felker officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yancy Love of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Barnett Douglas Hammond of Corinth, and the late Mr. Hammond, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yancy Love Sr. of Jackson.

The bridegroom is the son of Stacey Leigh Popicg and Timothy Lee Popicg of Wheeling, W.Va. He is the grandson of Mary Lee Smith and Terry Parsons Smith of Wheeling.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of ivory Chantilly lace. Her sheath style silhouette featured a veed front and back neckline, enveloping her shoulders. From the satin bridal sash that encircled her natural waistline, the sheath skirt fell, flowing into a court length train. With her gown, she wore an ivory tulle, chapel length, raw cut veil of illusion.

The bride carried a hand tied bouquet of solid white peonies wrapped in lace from her mother and grandmother’s wedding gowns.

Maid of honor was Sara Hazard of Washington, D.C. Matron of honor was Laura Cate Permenter of Oxford. Bridesmaids were Peyton Dowd, Marita Ellis, Toy Gathings, Mary Blair Johnson, Katie Lewis, Mary Margaret Myers, Grace Pearson, Chelsea Popicg, Veazey Reindl, Maggie Tidwell, Tara Hallie Ware, Anna Wells and Rachel Wirtz. The bridal party also included Rachael Borne, Mary Kimble Bridgers, Laura Cole, Heather Hines, Gabrielle Miller and Rebecca Tisher.

 

The bridegroom’s brother, Emil Popicg of Morgantown, W.Va. was best man. Groomsmen were Flynn Altmeyer, Kyle Beaver, John Love, Luke Love, Sam Love, Jesse Lucco, Mark McKinnon, Travis Morando, Davis Pace, Josh Randle, Scott Slater, Brandon Taylor, Brandon Tucker, and Mike Wilson.

Music was provided by Dr. Bill Wymond, organist and pianist; and Anton Zholondz and Vera Zholondz, violinists.

On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Cedars. Following the marriage ceremony the bride’s family hosted a reception at the Country Club of Jackson. Music was provided by I Love this Band from Atlanta.

After a wedding trip in Dubai and the Maldives Islands the couple is at home in Washington, D.C. The bride is an event planner and office manager for FTI, Inc. and the bridegroom is the CFO for The Miss America Organization.
