Miss Evans and Gooch planning April 7 wedding at Mississippi Museum of Art

Gail Summers Evans of Ridgeland announces the engagement of her daughter, Courteney Alice Evans, to Everett Henry Gooch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wayne Gooch of Brandon.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Summers Jr. of Ridgeland and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Howard Evans Sr. of Jackson. Miss Evans is a 2010 graduate of Madison Ridgeland Academy, where she was salutatorian of her class.

She was graduated from Mississippi College, magna cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

At Mississippi College, she was a member of Alpha Lambda Honor Society and obtained certification as an emergency medical technician.

In 2017, Miss Evans was graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences with a master’s in physician assistant studies. She is lives in Little Rock.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Delano Cantrell of Cartersville, Ga., and Freeman Russell Gooch and the late Birdie Ellen Gooch of Sparta, Tenn.

He is a 2010 scholar graduate of Northwest Rankin High School. He was graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in general studies with minors in history, business administration, and recreation administration.

At Ole Miss, Gooch was a member of Delta Psi fraternity and is a past president of the University of Mississippi Cycling Club.

He lives in Little Rock, and volunteers with Recycle Bikes for Kids.

He is an active member of the Sports Car Club of America, Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas, Central Arkansas Trail Alliance, and a voting member of the Little Rock Bike Friendly Community Council.

The couple will exchange vows April 7, 6 p.m. at the Mississippi Museum of Art. They will make their home in Little Rock.
