Miss Haltom and Harrison to exchange wedding vows Dec. 16 in Oxford service

Dr. and Mrs. Joiner Mack Haltom III of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Lauren Haltom, to Austin Michael Harrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Alston Harrison of Louisville.

Miss Haltom is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Wimberly of Brandon, Mrs. James Ferman Ware and the late Mr. Ware of Pensacola, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joiner Mack Haltom Jr. of Pascagoula. Harrison is the grandson of Mrs. David Mercier Shaw and the late Mr. Shaw of Forest and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Alton Harrison of Homewood.

The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Jackson Academy and attended the University of Mississippi. She was graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. At Ole Miss, Miss Haltom was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and was inducted in to Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Societies. She was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2012. Miss Haltom is completing a degree as a family nurse practitioner at Georgetown University.

The prospective bridegroom was graduated from Winston Academy in 2009. He attended the University of Mississippi and was graduated cum laude from the Lott Leadership Institute in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in public policy. At Ole Miss, Harrison was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity where he served as lieutenant commander. He was elected Mr. Ole Miss in 2012. In 2016, Harrison was graduated from the Clinton School of Public Service with a master’s of public service. In the same year, he earned a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas Little Rock School of Law. He is an attorney with Squire, Patton, Boggs in Washington, D.C.


The couple will be married December 16 at First Presbyterian Church of Oxford with a reception following at The Lyric.
