Miss Kemp and Elmore planning January 13 service in Vicksburg

Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Kemp III announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Derivaux Kemp, to David William Alexander Elmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Wallace Elmore of Greenwood.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Thomas Kemp Jr. and the late Mr. Kemp of Noxapater, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Derivaux Sr. of Vicksburg. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Marvin Alderman, and the late Jessie Lee Elmore and Shunden Elmore, all of Greenwood.

Miss Kemp is a 2014 graduate of the Else School of Management at Milisaps College, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics. She was a member and officer of Kappa Delta sorority, Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society, and Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honor Society. Miss Kemp was a Presidential Scholar and named to the Dean’s List during her time at Millsaps. She was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2011. She is pursuing a master of business administration at Millsaps College and is affiliated with Regions.

Elmore was graduated from Mississippi Delta Community College, where he earned an associate of arts degree. He was a member of Phi Beta Lambda Business Honor Society and named to the President’s List. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing at the University of Mississippi, where he is Community College Excellence Scholar.


The couple will exchange vows January 13 at 7 p.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Vicksburg, where the bride’s parents and grandparents were also married.
