Miss Kennedy and Lewis to wed November 18 at Galloway Methodist
Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Jeff Gilmer Kennedy announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Lee Kennedy, to John David Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Lewis.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of JoAnn Kennedy, Sherry Kennedy, and the late James Kennedy, all of Gulfport, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Leland Byler of Jackson. She is a 2009 graduate of Madison Ridgeland Academy. She was graduated from Mississippi State University in 2013 with a degree in elementary education. At State she was a member of Chi Omega fraternity. In 2015, Miss Kennedy was graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in communication sciences and disorders. She received a master’s of speech-language pathology from the University of South Carolina in 2017. She is a speech-language pathologist with Mikel Therapy Group.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jack Hurst of Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Alvah Lewis of Starkville. He is a 2010 graduate of Jackson Academy. He was graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in architecture. He is pursuing a master’s in urban and regional planning at Jackson State University. Lewis is a project specialist at the Greater Jackson Arts Council and vice chair of Team JXN.
The couple will exchange vows November 18 at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church.
