As we speed through an always-short February – with March and its Madness dead ahead – this seems a good time for a pop college basketball quiz.
So, who is college basketball’s all-time leading single season scorer?

The New Orleans Saints were in a funk. For three straight seasons, they won seven games and lost nine. In the NFL, that classifies as a rut, a bad rut.
So how did they get out of the rut in this magical season that has seen them win 11 regular season games, the NFC South Division title and a first-round playoff game?
Sports broadcaster extraordinaire Dick Enberg died during the Christmas holidays – December 21 to be exact – at the age of 82. He brought so much joy to my life, his passing shouldn’t go without comment.
So, of course, my first comment: “Dick Enberg, is gone. Oh my!”
Three things I don’t understand about football:
• Why do you have to be tall to run successfully with the ball? I mean, the idea is to make the other guy miss, right? Why do you have to be six-feet tall to make the other guy miss?
