It's not difficult to understand Mother Nature's giggles at our dismay when we are confronted with nature’s poisons, not to mention her mosquitoes, when we see what we've done to trash our roadsides, streams, and oceans.

Beware danger of ticks

Tick paralysis results from exposure to a neurotoxin released by tick salivary glands during a blood meal; it is the only tick-borne disease not caused by an infectious agent. The toxin appears to be produced exclusively by female, egg-laden ticks.
