Miss Cox and Ellison planning August 19 wedding at First Presbyterian Church
Dr. and Mrs. John Lowrey Cox announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonney Flora Cox, to Parker Lee Ellison Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. Parker Lee Ellison, all of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Norma Flora Bowen and the late Ernest Gray Flora Jr., formerly of Macon, and Mr. and Mrs. William Harold Cox Jr. of Jackson.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Joel Elliott Varner and the late Catherine Bankston Varner, and Dr. and Mrs. Richard Beirne Ellison, all of Jackson.
Miss Cox is a 2010 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She attended Mississippi State University, the University of Mississippi, and was graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. At Mississippi State, she was a member of Chi Omega fraternity. She is a labor and delivery nurse at Baptist Health Systems.
Ellison is a 2009 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He was graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in chemistry and biology. At Ole Miss, he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He will graduate from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in May with a doctorate in medicine.
Following the wedding, Ellison will be an internal medicine resident at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
The couple will exchange vows August 19 at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson with a reception to follow at the Railroad District.
