Miss Veazey and Rees to exchange wedding vows August 26 at Livingston

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Day Veazey Jr. announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Garner Veazey, to Charles Phillip Rees, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Henry Rees of Baton Rouge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Garner Watkins Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Day Veazey, all of Madison.

Miss Veazey is a 2012 honors graduate of Madison Central High School. In 2013, she was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi, Inc. She was graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2016, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology and a minor in English. She was a member and officer of Delta Delta Delta sorority and was involved with Global Ambassadors. Miss Veazey is a research assistant with GI Associates and Endoscopy Center in Flowood.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the Mr. and Mrs. Richard Louis Rees of McKinney, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Riley Brooksher of Baton Rouge.

Rees is a 2011 honors graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. He obtained his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Millsaps College in 2015 with a major in business administration. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from the Millsaps College Master’s in Business Administration program in 2016. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity as well as the Millsaps tennis team. Rees is a financial analyst with Agent Consulting in Madison.


The couple will exchange vows at the Chapel of Livingston, August 26 at 6:30 p.m.
