Bartling and Pearce exchange wedding vows at Walnut Hill Farm in Georgia

Lauren Prentice Bartling and Paul Brian Pearce were wed October 6 in an outdoor ceremony at Walnut Hill Farm in Dalton, Ga. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce Bartling of Ridgeland. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Alan Pearce of Chattanooga.

The wedding ceremony was officiated by the Rev. David Wesley Carroll of Canton. Music was presented by Ashley W. Strong, soloist; and Tim West, classical guitarist. Scripture readers were Molly Goldwasser Tate of Durham, N.C., and cousin of the bride, S. Clay Leech of Charlotte.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory designer gown with beaded lace motifs on illusion tulle and crystal buttons down the back. The full skirt swept into a chapel-length train. Her single tier cathedral length veil edged in scalloped Venise lace had first been worn by her mother at her wedding. The bride’s bouquet cascaded over a Bible carried by bride’s in her mother’s family since 1872.

Matron of honor was the bride’s cousin, Katie Leech Ebers of Hattiesburg. Bridesmaids were cousin of the bride, Meg Leech Hanes of Ridgeland; Laura Martino Morison of Atlanta; and Marianna Walker Wallace of Clinton.

Katie Margaret Hanes of Ridgeland, and Wesley Kate Harris of Savannah, Ga., were junior bridesmaids. Bradley Elizabeth Harris of Savannah was flower girl.

Honorary bridesmaids were sister of the bridegroom, Lindsay Jordan Pearce of Knoxville; Rachael South Bogema of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Anna Henson Burr of Marietta, Ga.; Gen Desaulniers Kandler and Rebecca McKaskle Parker of Atlanta; Catherine Yerger Mizell of Johnson City, Tenn.; Rachel Stuart Ragghianti of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; Marie Elizabeth Roper of Fort Lauderdale; Claire Patrick Strange of Dallas; and Margaret Taylor Tuskey of New Orleans.

The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Eric Morgan Connelly of Atlanta; and Rip Biggs II of Chattanooga.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted dinner and dancing in the Hilltop Barn. The Plan B Band of Chattanooga provided music.


On the eve of the wedding parents of the bridegroom hosted a candlelight dinner at the Conservatory at Walnut Hill Farm.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple is at home in Red Bank, Tenn. The bride is a pediatric nurse practitioner in the emergency room at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital and the bridegroom is an attorney in Chattanooga.
