McDaniel, Pyron wed at First Presbyterian

Caroline Dickerson McDaniel and Robert Craig Pyron Jr. were united in marriage April 29 at First Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Samuel C. Husband, brother-in-law of the bride, and the Rev. David L. Felker.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Max McDaniel of Jackson. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Craig Pyron of Crystal Springs.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory Alencon lace designer gown with a cathedral train. The veil worn by the bride was edged with Alencon lace and was previously worn by her sister, Sara Tyson McDaniel Husband. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of duchesse peonies and vendela roses with ivory organza ribbon. The bride also wore a diamond bracelet given to her by the bridegroom on the day of the wedding. This expression of love to his bride on her wedding day has been a family tradition with the Pyron family for three generations.


Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Sara Tyson McDaniel Husband. Bridesmaids were Allison McDill Barnes, Laura Elizabeth Barrier, Avery Alaxandra Branch, Margaret Lowery Cady, Grace Kathleen Dodson, Laura Leann Dye, Mary Margaret Bowden Fontaine, Olivia Corinne Geels, Melissa Jennings Gunn, Mary Grace Cady McDaniel, Allison Lucovich Mitchell, Elizabeth Martin Pittard, Elizabeth Freiler Pyron, Mary Landrum Pyron, Taylor Rae Thompson, and Mary Grace Toler Valentine.

Program attendants were Mary Caroline Beach, Courtney Beach Renfroe, Sally Leigh Arnold, and Hannah Elizabeth Suffern. Flower girl was Emery Rose Scarff. The bridesmaids wore a soft peach scoop neck gown with a flowing skirt and carried bouquets of Juliet garden roses, vendela roses, and eucalyptis. The flower girl wore an heirloom dress made of ivory bastiste and silk ribbon and carried an ivory rose pomander.


The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Salim Anthony Alameddin, Bryan MacQuiston Barry, William Harrison Bryant, James Barry Burt, John Graham Doty, John Porter Hannon, Hayden McKay Horan, Lawrence Lee Martin, Douglas Max McDaniel Jr., Matthew Campbell McDonald, Javan Thomas McBride Porter, Brandon Taylor Smith, Robert Lynn Smith, Benjamin Lee Stevens, and Jed Clinton Stevens. Ring bearer was Samuel Christopher Husband Jr., nephew of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Country Club of Jackson. On the eve of the wedding the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Fairview Inn. The day before the wedding a bridesmaid luncheon was hosted at the Country Club of Jackson and on the day of the wedding an out of town brunch was held in the home of Don and Virginia Primos.

Following a wedding trip to Destin, the couple lives in Washington, D.C.
